Randy, I liked the snake, and then saw the maiden "under the dipper". That Star shot is really nice, imo.

This is an awesome selection Randy! The Southwest is like a massive gallery full of these sites for those who are willing to look. I like how you rarely photograph these "straight on" and instead use angles and the surrounding terrain to your advantage in your compositions. That makes them so much more effective IMO. Love the Moab Maiden and the Dinosaur NM images the best, but it's really hard to pick favorites.

Having done the hike to the Solstice Snake when the temps were only in the 80's I can certainly appreciate what you went through to make the amazing photograph included in this collection. I'd say your efforts were well rewarded. This is some of the best rock art photography I've seen, Randy. Very inspirational!
Bret- I was expecting the temps to be in the 90s-100s for the hike to the Solstice Snake this summer. What I ended up getting on the solstice was one of those rare days when it was very humid. The temps were around the upper 80's and lower 90's, but the humidity was over 90 percent! It was a pretty miserable hike....but certainly worth it!

Randy, that is a terrific collection, each one being very nice. Thanks for showing them! I have sat near a few of these and many others just thinking. You almost have a great calendar presentation going.

Really love the Dinosaur shot and the star shot as well as the solstice snake. Well done!
What a great collection, Randy! The Solstice Snake is really special (what does the sun do the rest of the year? Is the panel just in shadow?). The owl also stands out to me, and I really like all the Barrier Canyon style shots.
Jackson- The panel is just in the shadow. A raised portion of the panel catches the light just right for less than two minutes on the Summer Solstice. After that the entire panel is then in the light.
