First Hare + repost
Back in the summer I had a weekend in the Brecon Beacons. Having put up a hare whilst walking one evening I went back the following evening in the hope of seeing it again. Having spotted it from the car I had to make a stalk of some 150 yards over open, sheep cropped turf interspersed with small clumps of rushes. 45 mins later I was at my target site wondering how I could possibly slip the lens under a tight wire fence without being seen in order to get my shots. Whilst pondering this, the hare calmly got up, stretched and wandered off!! To say I was gutted was an understatement as there are no hares where I live. I stood up to ease the tension in my back and there, about 50 yards away was another. Ducking back down and with the light fading rapidly I managed to get within shooting distance and get my first ever hare images.
This is cropped a bit as I was at the limit of any cover with just open ground in front of me. Dark blobs are the numerous sheep droppings (in which I was covered).

A great narrative to an image I find very endearing, rules of composition are being broken and maybe a touch of a blue cast... but for your first Hare I think you have captured the character superbly...

Slightly magenta/blue but expression says it all really.

You have captured the essence of the hare in both your picture and your yarn

Great story to set the scene and nice opportunist shot, just a pity about the oof green - guess that's the price you had to pay, along with the sheep droppings .......

Hares are great. The second shot is very nice....let hope we get some snow in the next few weeks and then we'll have a few in the snow too!

Love the eye contact. I would guess he didn't hang around much longer.

Prefer the second image and my preference would be to have more hare visible but it is still a great image.
