I need a little help with a location. I want to shoot the flat irons tomorrow morning at sunrise but I'm not sure where would be the best location since I've never shot them before.
Classic view is from the Trail Heads at Chataqua Park or thereabouts (900 Baseline Road, Boulder, CO). Drive West on Baseline until you reach the park entrance. I think there are some more interesting views on Table Mesa on the way to the Trail Heads at NCAR, as well as HWY 93 south out of Boulder I think it's between Marshall Rd and HWY128. Good Luck

There's a parking area on Hwy 128, just to the east of the intersection with McCaslin Blvd. You'll get a nice, expansive view of the Flatirons. Here's a link to images taken from that spot. There's not a lot of room for creativity with the foreground, but if you have good atmospherics, the expansive view works in your favor. If the sunrise isn't looking all that dramatic and you'd prefer to rely more on comp and foreground elements to get a compelling shot, then the area around the Chautauqua Park parking lot - or off the side of the road past the parking lot - provide better options.
