Palouse Falls using LR4 with re-post
I,m just experimenting here but I like the new sliders in LR4. I need to work with it a little more to figure out all the new features but so far it looks pretty good. This image is a little dark and my vignette sucks but I think there is potential with this image.

In addition to my FB comments on this fine image, I also really like what your shutter speed did for the water

I brightened a little, massaged the color in the sky and added a little more contrast...better?

I like the second one

Yeah, the update is better. I have GOT to SEE this place!

The update is much better. Can you give a brief rundown on what you like about LR4? Also thanks for the inspiration. This is on the agenda of my mega spring trip I'm planning.

Bill, The sliders seem a lot more sensitive...a good thing. They have moved the contrast slider right under the exposure slider which makes more sense. The replaced recovery and fill light sliders with highlights and shadows....big improvement!. They added a whites slider. That is mostly what I used on this image...along with color sliders and sharpening. I'm sure there is a lot of hidden stuff that I haven't even found yet.

Wow! The repost is WAAAAAAAAYYYYYY better! They don't even look like the same image! Beautiful shot, Jack!

This is a really cool image. I love the mood it presents. :toast:

Great revision! A little extra brightness and contrast went a long way. :toast:

I'm really looking forward to using those new tonal adjustment sliders in LR4, but I'll most likely wait for the final release.

Love the shot in revision. I saw a show just recently about kayakers who went over that saying it was the tallest height a waterfall could be and survive. I think I'll just stay to the side with my camera.

Nice Jack, repost looks great, much perkier than the first version, but still has a pleasantly gentle color palette. The vignette seems a little strong to me, at least in three out of the four corners.

Good info on LR4. Thanks Jack. Like Bill P I'll probably wait till it's out of Beta. On a seperate note, I'm planning a spring trip that will take me through the Palouse region so I'll probably be picking your brain soon for location information. See you Sunday!

Impressive sight indeed! Well done one the 2nd post Jack!

And to think someone had the cahones to kayak over that last year, a new world kayak record of I believe 186 feet, definitely testing the limits of the human body versus impact with water (the extra aeration at the bottom, made it survivable). See it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrveNdW_sj0

Jack, I love the second post...colors pop, nice contrast, and the water is beautiful! Makes me feel like I was walking along the flat plateau and came to the edge and discovered a missing paradise. Thanks for a great day today!
