Loads of these about but I find them very difficult. This one was shaking his feathers in the rain.

hi ian

great pic of a very hard subject, however you have certainly got the detail and pic right very good final result, these birds provide a real challenge regarding the colour tone of white/black and light available
overall good result

Great image Ian, nice different pose! Don't get these here on the west coast, just hoodies (crows not muggers!).

The BG works nicely for me and sets off the well captured bird

Well taken shot of a skittish bird. As others have said you've also balanced the black/white colours well.

Excellent control of the exposure on a bird that difficult to get close to (at least in my experience). All the hoodies where I live are definitely muggers and not crows .. !

This is a great shot Ian and I have to say I prefer this to the recent pool pictures. For me the background on this is perfect as is the detail on the bird. The rain drops have registered enough to be a feature without detracting from the image and, as has been mentioned, the raindrops on the head are great. Perch is fine. If I could have one wish on this it would be to have just a slight more head turn. . . . but that really is only a very minor nit. :toast: :toast:

Super shot Ian. Blacks and white are perfect, as are the bg and colours. Rain adds to it as well :toast: :toast:

Cracker Ian. Difficult subjects as others have said. Great background and sharpness. The raindrops are a nice detail too. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Great shot and you've handled the black and white very wel and the rain drops are a real bonus.
