Brown rat
One of the most difficult subjects I have done . Took 4 days to get this.
Through room window, with sun coming straight at me. Window sills and frames all masked with black cloth. Even had to cover the Nikon emblem on the camera and wear black gloves.
Only keeper out of 52 shots in one session. Incredibly sensible animals.
D7000 Sigma 150 macro.
800 ISO
40th second f7.1
Bean bag and through glass.
Slight crop
Processed levels Paint Shop Pro and Image guru/Neat image>
Bird poo cloned out on right.

Another superb shot John. A very underestimated subject. The lighting and detail almost makes it looks like a studio shot.

Thanks people.
I must admit I like it. The D7000 and the Sigma 150mmmacro are a lethal combination.
I'll chuck it at the damn thing now I,ve got a picture !!

You don't see many photographs of these. Very nice as usual John. The work certainly paid off.

Great images John, particularly the first one which shows the rat in a more aesthetic environment as opposed to a sewer or tip. It's said that we all have rats living within metres of us at any given time it's just we don't see them too often. They are true survivors and will still be here long after man has gone.
