Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to the forums and I've been looking at all the wonderful photos from 2011 that you have been posting, really some incredible photography talent here!

So I'm a little late to the party but I made a gallery of my favorites from the past year. 2011 was a pretty good year for me, I didn't travel as much as I had wanted to but when I did I was blessed with some really great conditions. I started the year living in Gunnison and moved up to Boulder in August. I miss the San Juans and West Elks! I moved to Boulder to help with a church plant and have enjoyed being in the area so far. I welcome any and all feedback, looking forward to sharing 2012 with you all!

I know you want to protect your images, but that huge watermark has got to go. It nearly completely eliminates any joy to be had from looking at your images.

Hi Ryan welcome to the forums! I really like your photos. Looks like you had a good year! I have to agree with Todd. The big watermark really takes over the image. I would rather look at the thumbnails than the larger version with the big watermark. My favorite of all your images is Lake Isabelle.... beautiful capture! Love the light and the composition.

Very nice collection, but I agree, the watermark really kills the viewing pleasure.

Welcome to the forum Ryan. Great photos you have there but I agree on the watermarks...they really block the images. Try for a smaller one and don't center it.

Thanks for the feedback, guess I did go a little overboard on the size of the watermark. I changed it to a much smaller one in the bottom right corner on the photos. Hopefully that makes it less of an eye sore!

Definitely a nice set of photos, Ryan, and the small watermark in the last one indeed looks much better. I basically regard my watermarks as educational and a request for decency. "Glad you like my photo, but not everything on the Internet is free to use, so could you please be a decent person and not steal my work?" is what I hope to communicate. Anything obtrusive enough to interfere seriously with image theft is also going to ruin image enjoyment.

You have some really nice images, Ryan. I think my favorite is the Lake Isabelle shot. I tried getting something similar there once, but you really captured the beauty of that place (the mountain and the falls). Happy shooting.

Great images Ryan. Winter on the Dallas Divide is my favorite photo. It definitely has a dramatic, snowy winter feeling to it. I also like that angle on Lake Isabelle. Need to get back there soon.
