Nostalgia
I passed this on my way to one of our other work locations last week and made a "note to self" to go back on a good photo day and take some pics. Well today was that day-overcast and somewhat foggy. I spoke with the grandson of the gentleman who owned the barn/truck and got his permission to photograph them. Later the grandfather dropped by to chat and told me this was a 1960 Chevy. He also stated he was going to tear down the barn soon. Glad I stopped! Added some tonal contrast, cropped and straightened.

Oh and if you don't mind, let me know what it looks like on your monitor. I have a new NEC PA271W and the colors look great to me, but you never know after you post! Thanks!

Dottie, neat shot, I think that is a Missouri License plate and if so the colors seem to match perfectly on my monitor.

Dottie,
Excellent shot. I especially like the way you have left the reds in the barn in their original subdued tones.
The rest of the colors look great on my monitor.

I really like the shot, Dot! I might consider adding a vignette to the corners to bring even more emphasis to the truck. Did you take any close-ups of just the truck? I see a thousand photo ops in the cool, retro details of that beast, some of which you'd need to get up close and personal for.

Something to think about for the future: If you go through the trouble of talking to the owner and getting his permission, take the next step and ask him if you can move that ugly piece of plywood, even if you have to promise to put it back where it was when you're done. This applies to any situation like this. If you're already twisting the ear of a property owner, and they seem amiable to your request, look carefully to see if there's anything else you can do, with his permission, to clean up the scene.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions! I'll work on the vignette Todd. And Stan said the same thing about the piece of plywood, he wanted me to "bleep" it out. The grandfather was sweet so I don't think he will mind if I return to take some more sometime.

Nicely done.

Might be good for mono too.

I see a great opportunity for a HDR tonemapped shot. Pull that truck out some, and let her have it. Just a thought!
