Curious to know if anyone is using one of the Kata 3n1 sling bags. I'm looking at either the 3n1-25 PL or the 3n1-35 PL.

Looking at the specs the 25 (smaller of the two bags) can not accommodate a body with a 70-200 attached. I would sure like to know if that is true from real life experience. I'd like to be able to carry that as well as a couple of other smaller lenses, flash and the usual accessories.

Any other feedback on using the Kata 3n1 bags would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any feedback you might have.

I have used the 3N1-30 for a few years now. It's older than what you are looking at, so YMMV. It could accommodate that zoom lens. I've had larger attached ones in the center channel. Generally I can fit a DSLR body + 4-5 lenses, 580exII flash, accessories, iPad pretty nicely.

It is a very intelligently designed pack with a 12 page users guide! I've hike for miles with it as a backpack full of gear. Tripod holder is good for 4-section CF models that compress to about 18.5 inches. Waist strap very functional, bag very well made, light yellow interior is elegant. Bag is highly water resistant prior to slipping condom on  and very weatherproof after, though not perfect.

I rarely use it as a sling, it works better than a Lowe sling bag which I owned prior, but I like packs. Biggest flaw is the shoulder strap padding compresses too thinly over time. I'm trying to get my talented wife to open them up and sew in denser material.

All bags are compromises and thus imperfect. That's why we have so damn many of them. But this is my fave.

I have a 3N1-20. I should have bought the 30. It holds my 7D with an 18-135mm but I doubt the 70-200mm would fit. Can't say for sure because I don't own a 70-200mm but it looks longer and the width of the 3N1-20 is tight for the 18-135mm. Other than that it's a good bag.
