First one I,ve had at the pool for a long time. I havn't even got the gravel and levels sorted yet.
Shows what the D7000 and Sigma 100-300 can do.
No sharpening and about 70% crop
contrast and ev down 1 in camera.
Sharpen on normal

He doesn't look hungry John ! These are stunning birds and ones that I have never had any luck getting near. Composition spot on for me and detail is as good as always.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.........your D7000 and Sigma 100-300mm are a KILLER combination. I think that is one of the nicest Bullfinch pictures I have seen.

15 species? I'm not sure I've seen that many at the nature reserve I visited this afternoon. The bullfinch is a cracker, colours look spot on to me.

Thanks all.
Just going out to play with a new lens. The Nikor VR 70-300. It means I should be able to get larger birds in at the pool easier with the bit wider end. VR will be good for other stuff.. It also seems to work with a 1.4 telec which its not supposed to !!
