I have used an Acratech "The Ultimate Ballhead" for five years, maybe longer. It's seen a lot of rough service without a problem and I've really been pleased with it. Last fall a little spring popped out of the clamp and was lost. I emailed them to ask how I would go about getting a replacement. They wrote back that they would gladly send a replacement spring for free, but recommended I just send the whole thing in and they would replace the spring, plus go over the whole ballhead and make sure everything was working correctly and fix anything out of order. Again no charge. Anyway, today UPS delivered it back totally cleaned up and with a new spring. It was only out of hand about a week and a half.
That's pretty impressive service this day and age. Especially for a five year old part that's been petty knocked around and beat up.
That's good to hear and makes me even happier I went with an Acratech! Thanks! Sharon

I haven't needed to send my GV2 in for repairs but it's good to hear that they stand behind their products if I ever do. I've been very happy with my Acratech ballhead.
Thanks, I lost my springs recently as well and was told the same by the folks at Acratech. I was inhibited from sending it in because it's hard to imaging life without the ballhead for a couple of weeks. Cutting that delay down a bit helps get me to the post office.
