See this

So does this mean that theoretically there can/will only be one image of a robin on an old spade handle taken in the snow - let the bun fight over the christmas card royalties income begin .............

This decision seems to open up a whole new industry for the lawyers.... a bit like the Personal Injury / Ambulance chasing brigade

Yeah, I saw it a few days back and was very surprised at the Judges decision. if they'd gone for something on passing off/trademark infringement I'd have understood it, but copyright ... well, a bit puzzling. I wonder if they'll try appealing the decision?

Guess the IP lawyers are going to be the next growth industry to boom after the bankers in the next few years :frown:

It looks like the judge took into account that these two guy's have plenty of previous. Anyway I am going to look up my closest approximation to John's 1968 attempt and get it off to my pal at Clinton's
