Nice tidy image here.
Know how you feel! Went through the same low patch last year. Forced myself to get out and about and to see something new and it worked. I left simple portrait stuff alone and focussed on action. Was reinvigorated! I wasn't based at a BarnOwl Centre though so am wondering why you are bored? Do you have 000's of barn owl images already?
One of the best day trips to get you going again is to the Farne Islands or to Skomer. It'll be great in a couple of weeks. Get some flight shot practice and try for different takes on the easy seabirds. Loads of action to be had.

Vince,
If this is the type of image you take when bored I'm dreading the time you become reinvigorated!
I really like this image - thanks for posting

I work with Owls every day from dusk until dawn & longer, this being everyday without a real break, I enjoy what I do at the Centre but I think I have hit a low period & I think this is because its clashing with my new found enjoyment of photography. For some mental reason I keep the camera at bay most of the time when at work except when I need to capture data to present to visitors or for talks. I am looking at taking a trip soon to Skomer, maybe that might help or maybe I should take a step backwards & ask myself do I need the basic of photography equipment for what I do at the Centre.
I hope the above makes some kinda sense & answers the question asked?
Nice shot Vince. All I can suggest is a some sort of change, so send all your gear to me and I'll send you my stamp collection, alternatively you could try some macro/landscape/people. I personally think stamps could be your thing.
Cheer up Vince springs here, If you take images like this when feeling down i would hate to see one when your in the clouds, Incredibly sharp,You can make a dull bird look good
Absolutely superb Vince! And thank you - spending a few hours with you at the Barn Owl Centre has really kick-started my enthusiasm for wildlife photography again. I hope you find yours again soon - IMO your images are one of the highlights on this board.
