Long-tailed tit Aegithalos caudatus
Hello!
One from the garden this afternoon. First time using the garden set up for a while, so things didn't quite go as planned, but I liked this one. Have had to crop the right hand side, as I was set up for the birds to land lower down.
Techs
Nikon D300s, 500mm f4 lens
1/160sec @ f8, 400ISO
Crop from right, shadows/highlights, sharpen for web.
They just never go where you want them do they . Very nice image of a delightful bird that I never seem to have much luck capturing. The background is really complimentary to the colouration of the bird. Nice one.

Never get these in my garden but there are plenty in the woods. Well captured Dawn. Great light and colours

that's really nice Dawn. You did well to get it to pose for you like that. The light is lovely as well.

A good, thin perch for a small bird, and as already mentioned the colour of the background suits the plumage.

I love the colours and the bird's body position - very difficult with these. A beauty!
