HumpBack Female summer of 05, Lizard Point, BC, just north of Port McNeil. Slight color adjustment for overcast, sharpening. No other processing. I recently reprinted this on my Epson 4800 on Ultra Smooth Fine Art at 14x24 with only minor sharpening required. Remember, the D2H is a 4.2 mp camera.
Randy,
I've been to this area before but wasn't as lucky as you with this capture. I had a D2h for around five months and found it has a perfect file size for shots that didn't have alot of fine detail. (like this shot) Its a fast and accurate camera. I did have trouble with noise at 400 iso and higher.

Thanks Erik. This shot was taken from more than 20 gigs of shooting whales over five days in the area. I need some serious sorting and catalog help. I try very hard not to use the D2H above 250 unless I'm in a box and I am shooting w/o VR, then I'll reach for the D200 or D2X, which ever one is closer. For now, the D2H takes a back seat to the others.
Hi Randy, I was looking at this image as we were talking on the phone tonight. And I like it a lot!! The water dripping of the end of its tail really make the shot!! Good sense of crop too! More More More please!!
