You jammy sod !!! I wish the ones I am working would show in that sort of light. A fantastic and rare image Phil. When you can capture this sort of picture the crop / techs etc become irrelevant. Congrats from one very envious welshman.

Looks great! Gorgeous light. Regarding the large crop, if the surroundings are "clean", I think it would also work with them even smaller in the frame.

Distant it may be, but what a great capture!

Phil, are you camping out in the Lower Hide? What a cracking shot Sir! I have spent many happy hours in that hide and used to watch the otters many years ago before they vanished (killed on the road I heard) but never got to see them on ice and this picture has made my day! Ian has made a good point you could reduce the crop and the image would still be great. As a matter of interest what time of day wa this Phil?
Hi Nick we got in the hide for 8:30am i'sh and the image was taken at 9:15am, I was so cold by 11:30 that I had to go back to my car and put the heater on, my car said it was -5c.

A rare image indeed. Fabulous shot Phil and I like it as it is although if you posted the full frame it would be interesting to see
Hello Phil
I think the second (uncropped) image is equally as good as the first. I know how patient you are in hides, and it has certainly paid off handsomely lately with your bittern captures, and now these otters - excellent work!
Best wishes
