Northern Pintail
I shot this Northern Pintail drake this morning at Ridgefield. He's in the classic "Tail up" position and pose. As a bird and waterfowl carver for over 30 years I have seen a lot in this pose made of wood but you don't always see it in nature. This may be my best NP photo.
It was soooo nice to see the sun!

Great as usual! As a side note I saw a few bufflehead along highway 30 West of Clatskanie on a Saturday, and they were still there 2 days later. Very beautiful ducks.

Oh! that is a fabulous shot, Craig. The pose and detail are pristine. They are such gorgeous birds, and it's really nice to see it so clearly. The reflection is great, too!
