Those of you who have been around for a while remember Jesse Speer as a regular forum contributor back in the day. He isn't around the RMNP forum these days but he's still alive and kickin'. In fact, he's working on his first book, titled simply "Autumn".
Jesse is one of the best nature photographers working today. He's also a very kind and generous person. His photography is contemplative, often subtle, and always beautiful. If you're not familiar with his work I encourage you to visit his new website.
Unlike me, Jesse won't shamelessly promote himself here in the forum. I wanted to take the opportunity to share with all of you a link to the Kickstarter project he started to get his "Autumn" book project off the ground. Even if you have no intention of chipping in a few bucks I encourage you to visit the link and read more about this awesome project.

Knowing Jesse, I'm sure the book will be a gorgeous piece of art. I can't wait to get my copy!

I agree wholeheartedly, Jack. Can't wait to get mine, too!

Those of you who haven't seen his work really need to go have a look. When I'm out photographing, I sometimes think to myself, "WWJD?," the "J" being for Jesse, not the more common use of that acronym. Of course, I never achieve whatever it is Jesse would do, because he sees things on an entirely different and higher plane than I do, but it keeps me striving to get better.

Ive followed his work a long time, and i agree he's one of the best and underrated photogs around, anywhere. Now if he would just get over his misplaced gripes and personally share his good work with his friends on RMNP, all would be well

Supporting Jesse's book through Kickstarter is not only a great way to get a copy of his book (or more), but a great way to support art in general. Let's face it, in a down economy there are a ton of artists out there that could use a break -- and Jesse is as talented an artist out there. I can't wait to have his book on my table ready to enjoy and show off to my friends. Hopefully, those of you who were at the shindig last year had the opportunity to talk with him, he's a great guy on top of being a talented photographer.

I definitely remember Jesse, but it's been a few years since I've looked at his work.... WOW!!!
Definitely some of the best work I've seen recently. The stuff on his new site oozes "style".
