It sells for 159 from B&H, but only shipped, not as a download. And no free trial.
It sells for 199 on the Nik site as a download with a free trial.
Now that I have a computer that should be able to run it, I want to give it another try.
Any suggestions for best deal on a free trial download? Thanks.

I really like Silver Efex Pro 2 and recommend it. I ran a review of it and other conversion methods (Lightroom, DXO Film Pack 3 & Alien Skin Exposure 3) on my blog back in Oct. http://jims-ramblings.blogspot.com/2011/10/b-plugin-review.html. The other two plug-ins are primarily targeted at imitating specific films, both B&W and color, matching their hue/tonal rendition and grain. Silver Efex will mimic specific B&W films but is primarily designed to provide maximum control over B&W conversion which (IMO) it does better than the others. I'm not really interested in making a digital photo look like it was shot on Tri-X or some other B&W film. I just want the best possible B&W.
