Crested Tit
1D Mk iv, 500mm f4, 1/125s, f4, iso 200. Fill Flash.

Took myself up north for a couple of days in the camper. Gas and water froze  I had a glass of water by my bed and it was a block of ice in the morning. It was worth it though just to spend some time with these little crackers. No snow though :frown:

Worth everything to come back with an image like this. Love the way the background colours work.

:wavey: the small version looks cracking but ... and it is probably me .... and i will get slaughtered for saying .. but ... i think the head on the large is a tiny bit soft ... i'm sorry its probably me, noone else has said it. But ive looked a few times and the eye in particular seems a tiny tiny bit off ... feel free to correct me and I am sorry and hope to be wrong ... :toast: :toast:

Thanks all.

Phil - I think you are right. I gave it another round of sharpening and it looks better - can't post it of course. I used more sharpening when I saved it at a smaller size. Many thanks for the helpful feedback.

That is a cracking image of a stunning little bird although I agree with Phil about the softness in the larger image. There has been very little snow about off the mountains this winter and England seems to be getting the frosty stuff just now.

It may not be super-sharp, but it is more than sharp enough, and the shot has gorgeous colours and composition. It was worth the cold night.

A beautiful shot Ian but as has been mentioned, slightly marred by the sharpness on the eye.
