Two for the price of one
Nikon D7000 105mm f2.8 macro ISO 100 1/125s at f10 SB-400 flash infill tripod

Taken last year in Glen Feshie where I found a good sized colony. The Ringlet butterfly is a recent coloniser of Scotland and has spread rapidly northwards over the last few years. I was in England photographing the Ringlets and noticed how much lighter the Scottish ones are. All C+C warmly welcomed.
PS the two Ringlets are mating.
Nick.

Please view LARGE to appreciate the detail (Hope that doesn't sound too perverted!)

Great image, Nick. Sharp where it should be, and with a good background as well.

Superb image! Detail is very impressive. If anything, a bit more space at the bottom would be good.
