Big Nose !
Hawfinch(Male)
The last visitor before the gravel change. Normally this head tilt pose would make us curse but I think in this case it has shown off the black bib nicely. Only got two shots as they are really flighty.
Usual set up,except 1000 ISO
Bit noisy but never mind.
Thanks for your recent comments. hard to come by on this site of late .

Very nice John :toast:

They are a lovely looking bird just don't get too many around here.

What a bird John. I have never seen one of these. Super detail as always. Perhaps tone down the light area at bottom right corner and clone out the little whitish area in the grass at bottom left?

The other thing the head tilt appears to have given you is a nice highlight in the eye.

Love those birds John. Not too sure about the gravel I hope you are changing for something more natural?

That is a cracking image of the Hawfinch John a bird that I have only ever glimpsed high up in a tree but that must be some sight close to. With a bird like that I forgive you for the stone chips  The D7000 has handled the 1000 ISO pretty well I think.

Excellent John. What a bird and I think the pose shows a side of its character.

Was this taken recently or is this one from last year?

Cheers
