Nikon D7000 300mm f4 + 1.7 TC ISO 500 1/640s at f8 rested on car window
Large group of mature stags crossed the road in front of me whilst travelling in work and several stopped to look at me looking at them. Little bit tight in the frame but had no time to change the TC. All C+C warmly welcomed.

A little tight but what a beauty. I like the way the ground angles into the bottom right corner
Is a TC on the 300 your default set up when driving to work?

Very nice Nick. I wish I had opportunities like this on my way to work! Love the sharpness, I don't think its too tight.
Still room for the virtual feet at the bottom so not really overtight. Nice light and background though perhaps a larger aperture would have thrown it out a bit more. A strong portrait and the diagonal of the deers pose gives a sense of impending movement. Nice one.
ps. I saw a black cat crossing the road on way to work, unfortunately it wasn't the Pembrokeshire panther

Thanks for your comments on my coat rack!
Bob, I had ben taking photos of a heron from the car and just happened to have the 300mm + tc on the seat next to me when the stags came across the road.
Robert, with the 1.7 tc on the lens I really have to shoot at f8 for IQ and the lowest I can go is f6.3 but it gets a little soft. Had to stop the car last night on the way home as 4 young stags came up from the loch shore and proceeded to walk down the road!

Little more space at the bottom would help but still a good image.
Nice light too.

Thanks John. One of those rare sunny days on the Scottish west coast, just hope that this years summer is better than last years!

I agree about the space. it is a bit tight but love the pose and the exposure.
