After receiving some feedback, here are the plans for the RMNP AZ Superstition Mountain Event.
Saturday March 10, 2012
Lost Dutchman State Park- Cholla or Saguaro Day use Area.
I will put out a RMNP sign at one of the ramadas to help find the group.
Meet at around noon-1 pm
Agenda: This is an informal gathering to meet each other. Bring some lunch. There should be grills at the ramadas if needed. After lunch and talking, we can hike out and photograph the Superstitions in the late afternoon /sunset. Sunset time is 6:30.
Hey Doug, I'll give you a dollar if you do this again on the following Saturday (when I'll be in town!).

This Saturday, a few Arizona members showed for an informal gathering at Lost Dutchman State Park for light talk before heading out for a sunset shoot. Attending were Chikku Baiju, Marty Quinn and his wife, Peter Coskun, Michael Greene, and myself. It was nice meeting all. The shallow draws seemed to have most of the brittle brush with yellow blooms. Poppies were sparse as winter rains were limited.

I wish Sally and I could have made it. We have family visiting this week, otherwise I would have been there. I hope you all had a great time. I look forward to seeing more pics!

Note that a $7 entrance fee may be required if one does not have pass.
For March 10, the temps should still be pleasant and hopefully some flowers will be blooming. The recent reports have the poppies just beginning. Hopefully the recent rains will help.
Flower reports can be seen at:

I hope to see you there. Please let me know if you plan to attend. Feel free to bring a friend.
