Very nice Paul. My only nits: The focus point seems to be on the birds back leaving the head slightly soft and you've got a sharpening halo around the birds head. very nice pose and composition otherwise.
I can understand the difficulty though of getting this shot and you've done very well considering! -12! Blimey!!
Thanks.

Hi Paul. It might be me as I am on a laptop but the head appears dark and also soft on the larger image....... others may say differently so apologies if my laptop does the image an injustice! The detail on the feathers with the water droplets really helps the bird stand out from the grey BG.

Brrrr chilly! Lovely birds these. I agree with Nick here, the head is a bit dark, but the detail in the feathers and water droplets is great.

Difficult bird to get any decent images off, you did well here but it is a bit soft.

Paul
Shold be able to get a bit more detail in the head with variuos software. Maybe more space on the left too so bird is looking into pic.
Cheers

it does look a bit soft and the bird is rather dark, but a nice looking duck all the same.
