Capreolus capreolus

Hello all,

Think she spotted me!

Techs

Tripod

Full frame, tweak levels, sharpen for web

C & C welcome as always,

Thanks for looking!

It is a nice image Dawn, but I think the Roedeer is a bit too central for my likings. I think you could move it a bit more to the right, leaving more space on the left.

Looks ok to me. Maybe a tiny bit more "guts" (levels) to it would help. Not too much though.

Comp ok for me as the bum will be too far right otherwise. She certainly saw you

Composition fine for me, but agree about giving it a bit more punch. Lovely shot :toast: :toast:

Cropping is always personal but this works for me as is. Agree with the levels, bit more contrast and maybe a touch of warmth but as said gently does it! Looks like she found the first flush of spring green grass. Really like this image Dawn. Did you stalk her or were you waiting for her as you mention a tripod?

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure how far to go with the levels, I did add a bit more punch but the light was dull as ditch-water, and this is pretty much how I remember the scene. I'll have a play in PS, definitely a bit more warmth/contrast needed.

Thanks Nick, no I can't claim to have stalked her, I just came across her - full story on the blog. This nature reserve has no hides, so you have to walk slowly and very quietly around to be able to see anything. Roe deer seem to have such different characters, some run as fast and far as possible without hesitation, others seem curious and tolerant.

Thanks again! :toast:

You did very well to get the shot Dawn that dead bracken stuff sounds like you are walking on new cornflakes! Much Kudos to you!

Lol, thanks Nick, but I don't deserve it! The path was mostly clear of cornflakes! ...I mean bracken...

a nice habitat shot Dawn, it shows how well they blend into the foliage. A tiny bit more space on the right would help for me and a warmer WB and a bit more contrast would finish it off nicely.

It's a lovely image, Dawn. Habitat shots always look good when you have a subject as good looking as this. Central yes, but because the deer is looking at you I think the comp works well.
