Tree Sparrow
One from earlier in the week, the humble Tree Sparrow sat on his perch, thanks for looking.

Cracking image of these smart little birds. The perch & BG all go to compliment the colours of the sparrow ,the pose is so that you get the eye contact and the head is pin sharp. Have lots of house sparrow in the garden but no tree sparrow up here. Can't find anything to critique Andy.

You call it humble, i call it a pretty under photographed bird! And a handsome one! They are in sharp decline. I like the image, pinpoint sharp and nice background. I would have liked a slightly less thick perch but well...thats a small nit.

Think i saw these as a kid,but very rare in my area now, nice pose and nicely lit and nice background colour, lighter perch would be nice, however, one on any perch would make me very happy

I agree, it may be humble, but rare in these parts and a superbly executed photo. No nits from me Andy! :toast: :toast: :toast:

A beautiful portrait of a cracking little bird. It is only when seen in such detail as this that their markings can be truly appreciated. Perch is fine for me. :toast:

Thanks for the feedback, as always it's very much appreciated :toast:

Not a great deal I could do about the perch, it's a natural one and not set up by me but the spuggs seem to like it

a lovely shot Andy and a nice looking Tree Sparrow. I think I'd be tempted to lift the shadows on the perch slightly but no nits otherwise.

We had some nest in the garden a year or so back & they're great fun to watch, but they've not been around this winter :frown:.

Some nice pics Andy - I think I like the other ones on your blog a bit more as they're facing the camera and show the cheek patches more than this one does.

Haven't seen one of these since leaving Lancashire, so really enjoyed this one. Photos are always seen differently, and I like the perch in this one, it sort of balances the image.
Best wishes
