As all of us who use inkjet printers knows, they practically give the printers away so they can get you on the hook for ink costs. One of my favorite sites is fark.com, which is just a conglomeration of funny, sad, interesting, off-the-wall and/or topical news links. The posters try their best to make the headlines as funny or ironic as possible, so I found this one to be pretty good:

"Printer ink tanker truck overturns. Damages estimated at seven hundred trillion dollars"

I read an article not too long ago that said that printer ink was the most expensive liquid commodity on the planet. Fark may not have been too far off on their estimate!

Too true. I'm into week 3 of "anything but Power Clean" trying to restore my Epson to its full glory.

May the force be with you, Stephen.

Exactly why I no longer print my own stuff...

Same here, Pam.

That's a great line. I remember a few years back Canon had a little 8.5x11 color printer that they were selling, with ink cartridges included, for less than the cost of the replacement cartridges. So people would use the printer until it ran out of ink and then simply buy a new one. Pure insanity...

Along the same lines, and on the same site (fark.com) today:

"Twenty gallons of meth with a street value of $10 million found at Taco Bell. Printer ink industry executives shrug, laugh, go back tossing $50,000 bricks of hundreds into their platinum and diamond-encrusted fireplaces"
