Great action shot Phil with a nice sharp eye. For me it would have been cool to see a little more of the reflection and I wonder if the splash from the missing front runner takes something away from the shot?

Have to disagree with Bob here, I like the splash in front of the bird as it leaves a little to the imagination and proves the territorial guy was doing his job. I like it.
Best wishes

Great shot, well timed and well composed! I like the additional splash, it tells a story. Just the right amount of movement too.

Great action shot with plenty for the eye to see. At first viewing I too thought the front splash was superfluous but having come back to it a couple of times I find it more intriguing; so my vote would be to keep it in. :toast:

I like the splashes but perhaps if you have any more in a sequence you could do a repost as a comparison? It may be my screen but there seem to be hotspots in the splashes, particularly the one in front of the bird and as the bird is quite bright I wonder if it is a little over exposed? Great action shot that tells a story.

It certainly isn't over-exposed on my screen. Great shot of a coot doing what a coot does best.

Good action well caught Phil. The clear view of the head and eye is important.

Cheers
