Red Crested Pochards are rare and the ones seen or photographed in the UK are often escapees. In Hungary it is becoming a more regular breeder and i was lucky to photograph this male in front of my hide in a fishpond during my stay in the Hortobagy.

Beautiful detail in the wing, and the excellent control of depth of field stops the background being too intrusive.

Very much like the sheen on the breast and as David pointed out the underside of the wings look very good, like it a lot.

Very well taken shot, good exposure, comp and detail, I would clone OOF sticks top right but it probably doesnt matter

Superbly executed photograph. Love the pose and DOF control.

Thats a finely detailed shot of a great looking bird, Rene. This is a species I have yet to photograph so I'll keep my eye out for one of these. I also like your framing of the bird and the pose is a winner.
