Nodding Thistle
This image, shot last summer, struck me as looking like tentacles from a sea anemone. This flower head is from an invasive plant, Canada thistle.
To achieve the DOF it is a 20+ image stack. I did use a printed background to be able to show the detail of the flower and stem.

Ken, the sea anenome analogy is fitting. There appear to be some "smudgy" areas next to the tentacles and flower bases.

I really like the color combination, so that works very well. I also like the droop of the bloom adding the curve to the comp.
It's a forum here and participation from both posting and commenting is highly encouraged, so I will second John' comment for you to dive in with comments on other's work. A 5 comment to 1 post ratio is suggested on the posting guidelines, so don't be bashful. :wavey:

Really nice comp Ken, wow, 20 image focus stack thats a lot of work, but it came out great, I love the detail and the clor of the background you chose shows off the thistle nicely.

Nice analogy with the sea thingy. 20 image focus stack! Way to grind it out, I'm just too post processing lazy to even attempt.
