Mr Nedster, I love the soft contrast and details in this, the DOF also works very nicely!

Aaahhh... A beautiful classic dahlia portrait. Such a delicate yellow exposed and focused perfectly with good dof.

Thank you. I can hardly wait for August again. I think I might add a
1 TB drive to my computer just for dahlias!

Love the colors and composition, Ned. I can't help but wonder if a square crop would be more pleasing overall. I do find that unopened bud in the lower left eye-catching, and while I like those "multiple stages of blooming" effects you get with a bud and a full blossom, I'm not sure it adds much in this case. Of course, that's just me. Others might holler "keep it"!

As for the hard drive: Go for 2 TB...I got a wireless with auto back up. It backs up changes to files wirelessly anytime I'm in range!

Why am I suddenly craving lemon meringue pie? :toast:

Beautiful yellows Ned. I really like the DOF here. I could see a square comp of just the flower working very well as well...almost looks like a sunburst.
