Little Grebe
Thanks for the comments on my last image. This was taken at the London Wetland Centre where I have now found somewhere where I can get low to the water! I knew that a Little Grebe frequented the pond, and so I lay down and waited, and sure enough, he came past me.

Techs:
Nikon D300s
Nikon 200-400mm
F5.6
1/200s
ISO 640

This is nice! Maybe just a little soft at the head on the larger version, but wonderful colours, pose and exquisite water.
Cheers!

Very nice Oscar... I might prefer a little more space above... fraid your Little Grebe appears to be swimming downhill though... easiest way to check is take a point on the bird and the reflection... the reflection should be exactly below (the cheek patch is good for this)

Nice composition and colours, but for swimming waterfowl, the shutter speed needs to be a minimum of 1/320, and preferably higher. Below 1/320s, the image will not be sharp.

Nits already covered but it is a cracking image of a LG, great detail on the bird. Have never managed to get this close to one.

Hello Oscar.

Love the colours in this image and for me the composion is spot on.

Only comment would be some rotation as Phil as mentioned.

Oscar

Great colours and the low position enhances the image further.

With the exception of the rotation, can't fault it, Oscar. The colours work so well together :toast:
