Evening light at the Theler Wetlands in Belfair, WA. This guy was patiently fishing in the glow of golden light and graced me with this opportunity.

Nice shot, AJ. I'd consider bringing up the saturation just a bit more... the grass seems a bit flat for a supporting background.... also, what is in his mouth ?? That black whatever looks like he's got a cigar

Great reflection and beautiful, natural clors, AJ. I hope thing are well with you.
AJ,
Nice catch. I would really love to see him with a big fish in his mouth.

Hi AJ,
This is a real typical, but very nice, scene of this GBH. This qualifies, IMO, as an environment shot since it shows so much of the habitat along with the heron. I've been trying to strive for more balance in my own bird photography between the desire for extreme closeups and the environmental shots.
Is that "cigar" in the heron's bill actually a small fish?
One last thing, AJ... in your full res image is the white on the sides of the GBH's head blown out? It looks to be in this web sized jpg but I often find that that can happen as you down res and then sharpen. Also, I find it difficult in my own attempts with GBHs to keep that white area from getting blown out, especially in environmental shots.

Thanks to you all. I appreciate the comments and ideas. For those who asked, the "cigar" is a small fish. Geoff, the area adjacent to the beak is always tough and at full resolution, there is some blown pixels.
