Hi everyone,
I've been lurking here for quite a while, reading posts, but doing all my posting over in the Avian gallery. Since my condor image got picked as one of the Arizona cover shots, I thought I should introduce myself.
I used to do a lot of landscape photography back in the film days, but somewhere along the line I stopped doing it. When I got a DSLR, it was mostly with birds in mind, and that is 98% of what I shoot these days. The irony, of course, is that I live in one of the prettiest landscapes in the world, at Desert View on the Grand Canyon South Rim.
Besides photography, I'm into hiking and wandering and archaeology and birding (obviously). I spent a lot of summers backpacking the Colorado Rockies, especially the San Juans, and a lot of time the rest of the year exploring the Colorado Plateau.
Hopefully I'll be able to provide a little different perspective on the amazing landscape shots here. I always very much welcome all critiques, comments and suggestions on my own posts--I've learned everything I know from the generous and talented folks over in Avian, and I know the talent and expertise here is just as impressive.
Attached are a few shots from my January trip to Bosque, my most recent real shooting.

Welcome Brian...awesome way to introduce yourself with some great shots! I won.t doubt that you will soon meet one of our other GC guys, Adam Schallau. He,s been shooting there for a few years now. Looking forward to seeing a lot more of your work.

Welcome, Brian! I am in awe of people like you who can capture avian shots; I just don't seem to be able to! Welcome to RMNP and I hope to see you and your images around!
Great shots, Brian. Especially liked the snow goose coming at the camera, a difficult shot (with a clean background) to get considering there are no other geese landing in the background.
