Nate is one the the guys who posts here from time to time and I subscribe to his newsletters. I just got one the other day called "The gift". One of the neatest photo essays I've seen in a lonmg time so I thought I'd share the link. Enjoy!
I have been is somewhat the same position out here on the plains of N. Texas and it is, indeed, a frighting feeling when the wall of rain obscures everyting and you cannot see what is coming. All you can do is hunker down and hope for a little luck. Great story from Nate and beautiful image.Ah, the life of a photographer

Great read, thanks! A lot of people seem to be fond of saying, "No one cares what you went through to get a shot." But I can't really agree. Sure, no epic story makes up for an artistically bad image, but I find context fascination as a fellow photographer, an adventurer, and someone who is generally curious about the world. I love being able to think about tornadoes and flash floods while viewing a rainbow image!

That took me back to my days as a storm chaser on the Plains. Wonderful read Nate! Made me feel all warm and fuzzy!

It goes to show you what some folks go through to get an award winning shot.
