Another wet bird
Nikon D7000 300mm f4 + TC-17e ISO 800 1/200s at f8 beanbag on car window

Taken today on a very wet day. Parked up by Loch Sunart having me sarnies when this Hoodie came close to have a wash and paddle....couldn't resist! Many thanks for the comments on my last post and as always all C+C warmly welcomed.

Looks ok
I know its wise after the event but maybe wider open would have blurred the weed a bit.
Could you try a bit of backgound softening ?- especially behind the head etc.
I would make the small one a bit bigger too. You're only at 500px  The big version looks much better.
Much better than any of mine which I haven't got !
Cheers

I would love to be wider open JR but with the teleconverter I am at f8 to maintain IQ, widest would be f6.3 but is a little soft. The small image is at 500px to maintain IQ again and I hope that most people open the larger version. Its at times like that I long for a 500mm f4....better stop fantasizing or I will end up drooling over me keyboard.......the missus has gone to bed so she's not about to give me a cuff!

Some nice detail in the large version, and like John it is far better than any hoodie shot I have got, and for the same reason!

Not an easy bird to take pictures off, you did well here. Not very keen on the setting but still better then any hooded crows i have!

The small (and it is a bit small) cersion doesn't do the picture justice. I do like pics in rain and the large version of this is really good. :toast:

The large image certainly shows the detail. Very well taken indeed.
