Spent Leap Day at the Wave in Arizona, here's one of my faves. I wish I could figure out a good, tactical way to eliminate the footprinted sand in the low-center, but I wasn't thinking straight enough to have smoothed it over while I was standing there.
For some reason when I post from my new-ish computer, the photos go a little too red. Please envision this image with less red saturation. Thank you that is all...
This is a mind-bender, Todd. I mean that in a good way, too. I love the sweeping lines and contrast of the sandstone and sky. Just awesome. What a killer way to spend leap day!
It is indeed unique...good work Todd.I would eliminate the foot print...will be tedious, though

First, I love the image..I don't see any saturation issues. Second, if you are having color issues, it could be the graphics card but a good profiling device should compensate and resolve that issue.

Todd, you can probably get Stan to replace the trampled foreground with a nice reflecting pool.
At this scale, the footprints don't bother me, but on a big print they would probably be much more obnoxious.
Very nice comp.

Todd, the lines and comp are great! I don't see saturation issues, it looks like you processed it well. I really didn't notice the footprint either, but I agree with Bill that it might be noticeable in a large print. This one's on my bucket list...wish I had gone...you lucky dog!
Fantastic comp, leading lines, sharpness, and color. Todd, is this one a focus blend by chance? That technique seems to be gaining momentum recently and wasn't sure if you were practicing, because thr forground lines seem very clean. Lastly, a logistics question, how late are you allowed to stay at the Wave any given day? I can't remember seeing any photos of the Wave after sunset.
Kane, this is a single shot. I was actually lucky that there was some thin overcast, which made the difference between shadow and highlight much more manageable. Also, I don't know if there's any sort of curfew for the place, and I know that other photographers' main goal is to be there for sunset. I was there til sunset the first time and didn't really gain anything, although it did help me get off-route. I'd say stay til midnight if you want, the permits they give out are good for the day.

The colors don't look too red on my monitor and I really like the perspective you have chosen to accent the curves of the Wave. It's not often you see a new viewpoint from this place.

Don't worry, Scott, I took tons of shots of the same three comps you've seen everyone else take, too. This entire trip wasn't exactly an exercise in original thinking.

I keep coming back to this shot, and each time I do, it looks better than the last time. Well done!

Great color and I like the way the patterns on the rocks lead into the photo.

This is a tough spot to shoot. Nice comp. It seems just a tad yellow on my screen. Love the detail!

I like the perspective you took to give some nice curved lines looking out of the wing.
