Hey folks,

I'm in the process of setting up a late September presentation at my gallery by a well respected expert in the field of online marketing. This will be a free presentation. Given that it's targeted at a pro/semi-pro audience I want to gauge interest before we put it on the calendar. Here's a brief description of what will be covered:

"The basis of the presentation is that you need to understand/define your audience before engaging in what many other books dwell upon, social media being primary among them. From there it covers content marketing, web design/usability, SEO, and yes, social media, but all with a very customer-centric slant. A presentation could focus on no-cost/low-cost customer research, content strategy for photographers (i.e. blogging), SEO, some or all of the above."

Is this something y'all would be interested in and if so, would you be willing to come to Moab to attend?

As always, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Bret, I think you are exploring in the right direction for landscape marketing and I would encourage all interested in selling their work to attend. The portrait/wedding world has been doing this for sometime and seminars like this are costly but well attended.
Frankly, there has been little information in Landscape photography offered and it is nice to see you addressing this issue.

Count me in and I have 2 or 3 friends that would most likely come as well. I just saw Joshua's response and I will most likely be in the San juans from Sep 28-Oct 4. Other than that, I should be around.

I'd be interested.

Sounds interesting Bret. Late September is fall color shooting though, so I don't know if you can pry people away from that. :) Personally, I have a buddy's wedding in Omaha the weekend of the 22nd, so I plan on shooting color the weekend after that for sure. Depending on when though, I could be in.

Yes I would be very interested, and as a bonus a Moab area shoot
Count me in.

Joshua: I considered the fall color aspect BUT people could shoot fall color in the La Sals while they're here and not have to fight with hundreds of other photographers in the process (San Juans, anyone?). Just a thought...

Sounds like there is some real interest. I'd still like to hear from a few more peeps, though.

How many do you need to make this happen Bret?

I'm very interested.

Jack: Ideally, I'd like 30 but I'm not expect all of them to come from RMNP. I'll be advertising on my website, at the gallery and in the local publications. At this point I just wanted to gauge interest to see if it's even worth moving forward. I don't want to waste the presenter's time if we can't put enough people in front of him. That doesn't seem to be a problem, though!

Advertising a social media workshop on social media? Genius! P.s. I'm interested, too.

Thanks, Todd. Yeah, I try to use what little gray matter my Mama passed on every once in a blue moon.
