The Oly camera bodies have a slightly reduced dynamic range so tend to struggle to retain detail in high contrast situations. I would have preferred a bit more detail in the blacks but I was always onto a loser in such sunny conditions. At least the eye catchlight is natural!

It is a shame about the detail in the blacks, but difficult to know what to advuse you to do in such contrasty conditions. I do think that maybe a little burning in of the yellow in the beak would not go amiss.

Personally i think there is enough detail in the blacks. Not so keen on the perch!

Mike the detail in the black looks ok to me,but a bit of detail looks to be missing on the bill and head ,still i would like to have a shot of this bird.
Nice bold colours. Considering the conditions there is sufficient detail in the bird for me.

Difficult to acheive perfection in these circumstances. A really good image.

You managed very well to retain the details with the bright sunshine......when I opened the post I thought it was a blackbird! Great image with a lovely blue sky (large sigh!).
