Have recently purchased "Wildlife Photographer" by Chris Gomersall and have just finished reading it. It is not a technical orientated book but is more about the thought processes that go into producing creative images and it touches on ethics such as digital manipulation and using captive and baited subjects. At the end of the book Chris also has case studies and comments on why he likes the images and why he thinks they work. The book has plenty of images and I think it is thought provoking and provides an insight into a professional wildlife photographers mind. At £25 it is dear but can be bought much cheaper from a certain website.....something to do with a rainforest I think? (other booksellers are available) I recommend this book and if you have a birthday coming up you could perhaps make subtle hints to your nearest and dearest. The front cover has a cracking image of an otter on it so I was hopelessly sold on the book immediately!
Thanks for posting this Nick as I have been thinking about getting it, so now I think I will. I too have noticed the price difference on a certain website
Nick sounds like a good book to have,my birthday in June so recon i will start dropping hints soon.
Thanks for this Keith.

Hi Nick, I can certainly recommend this too. A great book - not a technical manual as you mentioned, and all the better for it. Different from all the other wildlife photography books out there and a very good read indeed.
