Cherry blossoms, lichen, and warbler...what could be better. Love the muted colors in the environment. They make his yellow pop.

A really beautiful capture Wade, the warblers pose, blossoms and OOF BG all support each other making a very artistic image.

Holy cow, Wade! I sure hope this is in Avian!! What a gorgeous shot with all the eye-candy elements and a tack sharp little beauty of a subject. Congrats!

I am interested in the lens you used. IQ looks good for such a wide range zoom. How much post-proc sharpening and/or other "helps", or is this pretty directly "out of the lens," so to speak. Is the IQ good throughout the range of 50-500? Thanks for info.

Catherine, the bigma has had a very good reputation for its quality. I dont think I am doing any more as far as post processing as I have for any lens I have owned. The reviews have said it 's weakest point is on the small end. Thank you for the kind comments.

Oh wow, I love this shot. I am not typically a bird aficionado, but this one is fantastic!

How striking! I'm pretty sure I've never seen a better shot of a female Yellow-rump, for all the reasons listed above. My only suggestion would be to play with a pano crop to remove some of the OOF flowers at the bottom; it's a small thing, but the rest of the photo is so tack on that they grab my eye a little. Regardless, eye candy! :toast:

I like this one Wade. The pose of the bird is excellent. The sharp details look great.
