Life on the edge
Nikon D7000 300mm f4 + TC-17e ISO 500 1/800s at f8 handheld. Cropped to pano.

Alternative title....Look out, behind you! A tiny Ringed Plover standing at the very edge of the tide Canute like almost daring the incoming wave to wash over it. All C+C warmly welcomed.

Hi nick,

I quite like the shot and the idea behind it. Maybe a tighter crop to remove the dark area on the LHS.

I love the composition and small in the frame, the wave gives the image a sense of movement wish the image had sound really nice  :wavey:

Well composed image and the pano crop works wel. However, I think the bird is a bit lost in the background here. But still a nice image. :wavey:

Bigger looks better. I too like the pano crop but that large area of dark water on the left is a little bit distracting.

I think this is a case where in 2D the subject bird is a little lost against the incoming wave (this, of course, may be the point). In 3D the subject will seperated by the sense of depth achieved by this technique. The image has given me food for thought.

Great idea - just covering the dark area to the left of the bird with my hand seemed to emphasise what you were after (at least to me anyway!)

Hi Nick.
It works for me apart from the dark patch on the left of the wave, but you are still left with a very nice image.

Looks OK to me Nick.
Conveys the mood well and taking the dark area out would loose some of that mood, and the water droplets too.

I think a slight crop and getting ride of the dark area would improve the image.

Very nice Nick. I agree with the comments so far. Interesting and different concept. :toast: :toast: :toast:

the bird is a little lost against the background and I'm also not keen on the dark area. But still an attractive image, especially if the LHS were cropped a bit.

It is a bit lost but I can see your idea and it nearly does work, just a bit less DOF needed.

Hmm I like the idea, but I think the bird gets a little lost against the background
