Mesa Arch
The iconic Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park.

Taken on Velvia 100F 4x5 film

One of the things I am trying to more of on my large format blog is show the setup and the final shot. This is the shot, see the setup and the story behind it on my blog.

Holy cow, Darren, this is incredible!!! I definitely prefer this one to the blog header - which seems to have a slight magenta cast. I would guess the detail is really sharp at f/45. Very nice. What time of year was this taken?

Impressive shot Darren. I've never been there but have seen a ton of shots of this location - this is one of the best.

Thanks guys. This was taken in February 2011. It is a great location. Bill, the other one was Velvia100 which has a magenta cast. It is one of the main things I dislike about that film. So when working in color it is Velvia 50 or Velvia 100F for good color. In winter with muted colors I go Astia.

Classic shot of an iconic location ... of course with your typical perfect execution and exposure!
