Mitten Shadow Reminder

In just a few weeks will be the Mitten Shadow event at Monument Valley on Friday March 30. While not optimal, the shadow will be nice on Saturday also. Anyone going?

Hope to make it!! Any suggestions on best locations to shoot from would be appreciate as this will be a 1st timer for me!!

The 'campsite' north of the visitor's center and the road leading into the campsite are all primo spots, Richard.

Richard, if you have not been to MV, the visitor center John refers to is by The View Hotel inside the park, and not the visitor center on the main highway. The campground is essentially a dirt parking lot with a few ramadas and porta-potties.

Can a person get a reservation for the campground?

Richard, there are no designated campsites or reservations needed. You pay $10 per night when you enter the park in addition to the $5 per person entrance fee. For the campgound, you are given a hang tab with dates for the rearview mirror.

My nephew and I will be swinging by on the 26th. Even though it's gonna be early, I don't think this is a one-day event and we'll see what we see. I suspect it's better to be a day or two late than a few days early, but we're detouring home from Zion to check it out.

I going to be in the general area at the end of the month -- thanks for the reminder, I might have to check it out. Last time I was down there for the "alignment" I got blasted by a sandstorm.

Last time I tried to catch this (last fall) it was a bust! My luck...I hope you all have better luck this month than I had!
