It's bee a while, gang, but here's a recent image of the Seattle Skyline to let you know that I'm still alive and kicking. :)

I received a very nice e-mail from Rick Lundh about this shot and thought I'd share it with you guys and gals here. Enjoy!

1Ds MkII & 17-40 f/4 L

6 images taken over 1/2 hr period were merged together in PS CS2 using the HDR tool. The sky was merged separately from the city and the the two "halves" were then finally merged to give this final effect...I wanted the maintain the beautiful color in the sky while still capturing the motion of the city traffic and lights.

Enjoy!

Very nice work, Mahesh... how have you and Cindy been? Good to see you back over here..

Hey there, old buddy! Cindy and I are very well, thank you! I just replied to an e-mail from Rick and asked him to send you and yours my warm regards, but I guess now I can do that myself. :)

When are you guys gonna come up to Seattle? We've moved to a new place (has a great view, btw) and now have a guest room so you're welcome to stay over. Summer is a great time for cityscapes. :)

Take care, bud.

Mahesh,

Great image of a great spot! I've tried this once or twice, and plan to do this technique later too. I just don't have the time with a 3 year-old right now...(here he comes now)

Take care and keep in touch. The gorge is greening up right now!

Awesome Mahesh! I love the flow of the s curve. I'm heading to seattle in a few weeks, and this was the one spot I was planning on shooting.

Mahesh - thanks for the kind words. We'd love to come up that way, and will plan something with you two. That would be great!

Mahesh,
Nice to see your still shooting pictures. This one is a real winner. Nice work on the HDR. Everytime I think about giving up on HDR, I see one of your attempts and decide to go back to the drawing board. Any tips?

I have not seen this technique pulled off as well as this - everything is perfect, Mahesh. Hope you are well - you going to make it out to the Palouse with us in June ??
