Many of us have shot in Utah (one of my favorite places) so I thought this article about Utahs image problem was interesting...

Yah, I heard about this yesterday. Apparently they did NOT survey anyone on CNP!

Now I just need to get around to booking my trips to RMNP, Arizona; and Vail, New Mexico!

Hard to believe - where are people's priorities?

The article isn't bad, but the Survey was slanted from the start. I bet they never showed an image of Mesa Arch, Delicate or Turret Arch either! probably never showed the Mittens or any of the Hidden Canyon to have people identify. I mean Delicate Arch is an Icon as The Maroon Bells & Pikes Peak are to Colorado. Who ever put the survey together wasn't thinking too clearly! Three are actually only a few spots in Utah that could be confused with Utah and visa-versa.

So many jokes, so little time!

If the survey included pictures of good snow, I could understand the confusion. But not knowing where Arches is located?

Darren, I was just going to say that, but you beat me to it.

LOL. Actually I did read (or hear) somewhere else that they DID show Delicate Arch, and many people placed it in Arizona. Maroon Bells here I come! (Those are in Montana right?)

These survey results sound like a good thing for those of us who don't like to fight the crowds!

I'm actually not surprised. Most any local government function in Utah seems to suffer from chronic MIS (monumental incompetence syndrome). Personally I'm not too crazy about the idea of having more clueless tourists running around  but then again it's this lack of familiarity with natural treasures that cost us the loss of Glen Canyon.

I thought I would get away with the Mitten thing, Darn! Lack of Sleep over the past week got me!

Close, though. They're less than a mile over the border...
