Zack, I like this one better as well. I am finding that I like wide angle verticals better than horizontals. I like the dominance of the foregrounds that the vertical format brings.

Oh BTW, Rowena is looking very good, the lupin is still coming up and should be in very nice shape by this weekend, I think next week will be the best conditions for the flowers as a whole. I saw Indian Paintbrush coming in as well higher up the hillside.

Both are pretty awesome. Since the sky in this one is so awesome and rare, I want to see more of it. Therefor, I much prefer the vertical composition.

Zack, I like both for their own qualities - the one problem I had with the vertical was the cut off flowers along the bottom of the image - maybe cloning them out to make it cleaner. It just doesn't look quite right with flower that you only see a few petals of. The above version has everything just perfect ! And that sky is really amazing....
