Just back from my trip to Ndutu on the Eastern Edge of the Seregeti in Tanzania. The good news is that the locals believe that the government are backing off from the proposed Serngeti Highway due to international pressure. The highway would cut the Serengeti in half and seriously disturb the 'Great Migration'.

The trip was my sixth to the region and was definately my best with a lot of firsts for me including a cheetah kill, a white tailed mongoose, lions mating and a wildebeast chasing a lion into a tree. I will post some stuff over the next week or two as I sort it all out.

I am planning an at cost trip to the area next year just for photographers. It will be around february or march so please contact me if you would like more info.

If you can tell me how to convince my other half and a bit to let me go I will come ;) Would love to do the Serengeti.

Good news on the highway, but I bet it was more down to expected loss in tourism dollars than natural preservation.

Money certainly does talk. Lets hope more of the money goes to the local people as that is surely the best way to get them to support wildlife. Life is tough out there and you cannot feed a family on views of wildlife.
If I come up on the lottery Bob I'll be there!
