Gold Bug Hot Springs
Came across this awesome hot springs in eastern Idaho near Salmon. It took an icy walk to get to it but it's isolation is part of the charm. Took with Nikon D700, 1/80s @ f/8.

Wow! This is spectacular, Kathryn! I love that it almost appears seasons are clashing with the snow and fog contrasting with the green moss and flowing water. Well worth the effort required to get here to make this photo. :toast:

The steam really makes this look inviting. I'm a huge natural hot springs seeker and soaker, and Idaho has more than any other state. Did you take a soak?

My favorite hot spring ever! And a very nice take on it, Kathryn, I've always wanted to go in winter. Here's my take on it from several years ago: it also has on of the best views you'll ever see while sitting in hot water in the mountains.

I really love the contrast between the ice and green. I also LOVE how the scene transitions. Nice work

Like the little bit of mist in the first image. Like the way the greens contrast with the snow as well.
